I HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE DESIRE TO TAKE PICTURES
I began taking pictures with a Kodak Brownie camera in grade school. I believe it was an old one that my father handed down. It was just a box, really, and easy to use, and created simple black and white images. One Christmas I campaigned for and received a Polaroid camera that was fantastic - instant (almost) pictures. But the camera that I learned most from was a Pentax K1000.
I loved being able to capture an image, being able to stop the progression of time for a moment.
Those moments are always changing. I am like many in that I don't like change. However, when I am taking pictures, I love change because I can capture and save images that may never be seen in the same way again. Being able to show others what I see during that moment drives me as well. I often walk by things and cannot believe that others do not see the beauty in front of them. In some ways I believe I have been commissioned to show them.
